About Me

A writer, photographer, and fact-checker, I specialize in narrative science and environmental journalism.

As a reporter, I'm drawn to stories about the ways everyday people are impacted by or responding to climate change and environmental degradation, so I often write about conservation, wildlife, recreation, agriculture, natural disasters, and climate solutions. As a fact-checker, I bring a close eye for detail and nuance to narrative and investigative work. Previously, I've focused on sustainable and small business, Main Street economic development, and social finance.

A graduate of UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, I am currently based in Southwest Washington after many years in Oakland, California. My other obsessions include birding and bicycles.
